Don’t let the flu get you!
You can help protect yourself from the flu by following three easy steps.
1. Get your seasonal flu vaccine
2. Get your H1N1 (“swine”) flu vaccine if you are high risk (two shot series), which is defined by the CDC as the following groups.
- Pregnant women
- Anyone aged six months to 24 years
- Caregivers of infants < 6 months
- 25-65 year olds with a chronic health condition
- Healthcare workers
3. Take everyday steps to prevent the spread of germs, such as:
- Wash your hands
- Cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze
- Don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth
- Avoid contact with others when they or you are sick
As you can see, three shots may be needed to protect against H1N1 and seasonal flu.
